Reading too much into the past is a waste of the present
*******
The word ‘happiness’ would lose its meaning if it were not balanced
by sadness.
– Carl Jung
*******
Don’t be sad if God separates you from something or someone you
love. If only we knew what His plans were for us, our heart would
melt with the warmth of His love.
*******
Don’t let the sadness of your past, and the fear of your future ruin
the happiness of your present.
*******
Don’t expect too much from people, the less you expect, the less
disappointed you will be when they let you down.
*******
God will never leave you empty ! He will replace everything you have
lost. If He asks you to put something down it’s because he wants you
to pick up something Greater
*******
Don’t be sad because it ended be happy because it happened.
– Dr. Suess
*******
Don’t promise when you are happy. Don’t reply when you are angry,
and don’t decide when you are sad
*******
I do believe that if you haven’t learnt about sadness, you cannot
appreciate happiness.
– Nana Mouskouri
*******
If you are afflicted with a misfortune, look on the bright side. If someone were to hand you a glass full of squeezed lemons, add to it a handful of sugar. And if someone gives you a snake as a gift, keep its precious skin and leave the rest. – From Book Don’t be Sad

Thanks for sharing.
Dear all it’s true, however I don’t agree with the opening lines of this post “Reading too much into the past is a waste of the present”, because we all learn from past experiences, ALSO, Holy Qur’Aan and other holy books are also part of the same past. Therefore, I call it absolutely wrong concept.
Please think about it, and correct me if I’m wrong.
Actually the quote is with regards to sadness. I think the context is important here 🙂
By the way, you are not wrong ! 🙂
u r right……………
tahir,
i do agree thinking of past ruins our present time.we do learn from past experiences, just learn and remember the lesson, but dont hate people ,forget and forgive them.learn lessons through past experiences, but dont think too much to ruin your present life.having my own experience i am expressing here.
holy Quraan came in the past but for all the people of the world of the past ,present and future.please dont simply say that book of past, it is the book for present and future also
just what i think I have specified, may Allah help us all not to comment on holy books
Excellent quotes. I love the seventh and the last one..
Tahir I fully agree with you. It is our past that teaches us a lot. We live our life as per the life of our Prophet (SAW) and Noble Quran.
Actually the quote is with regards to sadness. I think the context is important here 🙂
