Mom, How can I repay you?

After having a lot of success in his career a young man felt an urge to repay back to his mother for all that she had done for him.

So he asked her, “Mom, what can I give you? What can I do for you? I sincerely want to repay you for all the sacrifices you have made for me and for all the love you have showered upon me.”

Mother looked surprised and said, “Why do you think about it. It was my duty so I did it, you don’t have to repay me. Even if you want to, there is no way a man can ever repay his mother.”

Despite her continuous refusal to ask for anything, he continued to persist. To put an end to the discussion, she said, “All right. If you must, then tonight you sleep on my bed, with me, just as you used to when you were a baby.”

He said, “That’s a strange thing to ask for, but if it pleases you, I will.”

As soon as he fell asleep, the mother got up and brought a bucket of water. She poured a mug full of water on his side. Feeling disturbed by the wetness under him, in his sleep he moved away to the other side of the bed. As he settled down, his mother poured another mug of water on the other side. In his slumber he tried to find space towards the foot post of the bed.

Sometime later he woke up feeling that this part of the bed too was damp. He got up and saw his mother, with the mug in her hand. He asked angrily, “What are you doing mother? Why don’t you let me sleep? How do you expect me to sleep on a wet bed?”

Mother said, “I slept with you, when you wetted the bed in the night. I changed your clothes and moved you to the dry part of the bed, while I slept on the wet side. You wanted to repay me. Can you sleep here even for one night with me on a damp bed? If you can, I’ll take it that you have repaid me.”

Moral: Of all the debts in the world, the one that can never be repaid is the one you owe to your mother. You can never repay the love, care and time your mother gave to bring you up. You are a part of her flesh and blood; don’t forget this, because she never ever forgets it.

    Assalaamualaikum,

Allah and his prophet said JANNAT ( paradise ) lies in mothers feet and father in the door.

Allah bless every son & daughter to give good life to their parents and not leaving them once married…

We cant even repay a single thing … for what they did for us..

Ya Allah Mere Maa Baap ko lambi umar ata kijiye aur mujhe unki har tammana poori karne ki nek taofeeq ata farma. raham kar karam kar MERI MAA MERE LIYE JANNAT HAI AUR MERE WALID US JANNAT KA DARWAZA.

KABHI MAHROOM NA KAR APNI RAHMATOON SE

Moms are the greatest part in our life and we can never repay them except our duas, I agree. But what about DADS who work day and night for our family including moms?

That’s a good question 🙂 Fathers are of course important and worthy of our respect just like mothers, but mothers have greater rights than the fathers. That is the reason our Prophet said “Paradise lies under mother’s feet”. He (saw) also said mothers are given more rights than anybody else and said this, “Do good to and serve your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father, then the near relatives and then those who come after them. 🙂

nobody can pay the debt of his/her mother by any means or how much he try. if any body want to repay his/her mother, he /she must ask the ALMIGHTY ALLAH to shower HIS blessings on his/her mother as she show her kindness when he/she was a c hild.

MAY ALMIGHTY ALLAH BESTOW HIS BLESSINGS ON MY MOTHER.AAMEEN.

R.Tagore has said that the best university for a child is the lap of the mother. When the mother breastfeed the le baby, the view is held that the milk strengthens the body, and the love the mother generates at that time feeds the soul. There are still others who believe, at the time of childbirth the mother is empowered with divine virtues for sustaining the task of creation.

Good to see lot of comments indicating Mother’s Love.
Please don’t forget our wife is mother for our children.

We should be very thankful to GOD for providing both, for their Love and part of our lives.

A mother is the only person who loves you for no return, no expectation. That is the greatness of the mother. No wonder Allah made our Prophet PBUH tell a disciple 3 out o4 times to take care of and respect the mother!

And look at the depth and numbers of the comments here. Truly a mother inspires so much in us.

    God bless the mother.

Thank you Allah for a mother.

Thanks Sara for that wake up call!!! I’m motherless, as i lost my Mom as an infant. I don’t know her at all, & couldn’t even present her with a rose. I pray to her everyday, and I know she protects me. God bless you Sara.

    • Mohamed September 25, 2012 at 6:56 PM #

Hi ‘Flo Az’. May god give his blessings to you and your family.
      Please don’t pray to her(Mother).
Pray for her to God, to forgive her and bless her with Heaven.
      God is the only ‘Protector’.

Alhamdulillah. My parents are with me and they mean the world to me.I would do every smallest thing that make them smile and be happy.

Repaying them is a very big thing , i cant just think of that.
What i can do is be good to them, do good to them and treat them in the best way possible making sure i dont hurt them in the slightest way.

Not only you cannot repay to your Mother, but also anyone who helped you when you are in need. It may be small advice, or a mouth of water, or a place for sit for few minutes, use their toilet for a moment in crucial time, .etc., etc.,

If one helps you, then thank the Almighty, it is the way of repay things. It is Islamic law.

    • Mohammed October 4, 2012 at 3:24 PM #

Thanking one who has helped you and thanking Allah, as HE who has provided the help to you by other means. So say,

Alhamdulillah (i.e. thanking Allah for the help) and then say Jazakallah bil Khair (Asking Allah to reward the person with better, who helped you).

In many Ahadees it is mentioned and witht he peoples response also proves the fact that there is no comparison to mother’s love & care. Hence, the Prophet Mohammed (SAW) says that Pray to Allah and ask HIM to reward your Mother and Father, for the care and love provided to you. Because HE only can repay the debt to our parents.

      Jazakallah bil Kahir

It is truly sad that in this world sons have forgotten the love and care thier mother has given them. They are now married and do not think of their mother’s, just to please their wives. This happens alot and it is very sad. You can never repay a mother for everything she has done for you that but I will say never get tired of trying.

  27. ATIF RIAZ July 26, 2012 at 4:33 PM #

WE CANNOT REPAY OUR MOTHERS EVEN FOR ONE NIGHT, HOW DO WE EXPECT THAT WE CAN PAY FOR SUCH A LONG TIME OUR MOTHER HAS CARED FOR US FOR SO MANY YEARS.
SHE GIVES U FOOD EVEN WHEN SHE IS HUNGRY
SHE TAKES ALL OF YOUR PAINS WHEN SHE IS EVEN IN MORE TROUBLES
SHE KEEPS U IN HER LAP NO MATTER HOW MUCH TIRED SHE IS
SHE GIVES U COMFORT TO SLEEP NO MATTER SHE IS AWAKEN FOR HOW LONG

IF U HAVE YOUR MOTHER TAKE CARE OF HER
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE MOTHER, PRAY FRO HER ALWAYS AND DO THE GOOD SO SHE CAN BE REWARDED AS WELL FOR YOUR GOOD DEEDS

    • Paras July 26, 2012 at 6:23 PM #

Yes truly no one can repay mother, then what about the Almighty Allah who created us and everything in this universe,

But when Almighty Allah is saying give ME Beatiful loan (Qarzi Hasna)
“Who is he that will loan to Allah, a beautiful loan,(QARZE-E-HASNA) which Allah will double and multiply many times? It is Allah that gives (you) want or plenty and to Him shall be your return ” -Sura Baqara 2:245
    Can we do it?
