A man feared his wife wasn’t hearing as well as she used to and he thought she might need a hearing aid. Not quite sure how to approach her, he called the family Doctor to discuss the problem. The Doctor told him there is a simple informal test the husband could perform to give the Doctor a better idea about her hearing loss.
Here’s what you do,” said the Doctor, “stand about 40 feet away from her, and in a normal conversational speaking tone see if she hears you. If not, go to 30 feet, then 20 feet, and so on until you get a response.”
That evening, the wife is in the kitchen cooking dinner, and he was in the hall. He says to himself, “I’m about 40 feet away, let’s see what happens.”
Then in a normal tone he asks, ‘Laila, what’s for dinner?”
No response.
So the husband moves to closer to the kitchen, about 30 feet from his wife and repeats, “Laila, what’s for dinner?”
Still no response.
Next he moves into the dining room where he is about 20 feet from his wife and asks, Laila, what’s for dinner?”
Again he gets no response so,
He walks up to the kitchen door, about 10 feet away. “Laila, what’s for dinner?”
Again there is no response.
So he walks right up behind her. “Laila, what’s for dinner?”
Laila shouts at him back “Sameer, for the FIFTH time I’ve said, that I am making Fish!”
Moral: The problem may not be with the other one as we always think, could be very much within us..!
Well said. True!
This is a very nice story with great morals.
It’s very easy to see the dirt in other people’s eyes with yours full of dirts.
May Allah swt guide us aright. Ameen.
Thanks Ali and the ffj team for sharing.
Well done Sara.
The husband is now the judge, as he is to determine were the fault is coming from.
The thought makes the person
I remembered the saying. that “when you point your index finger to the person in front of you (to critisize) the other three fingers are pointing back at you”
our eyes cant see ourselves … its easy to pick out others fault than our own …
True! one has to look at himself before judging others
extremely wonderful !!!!!!
Again there is no response.
No matter how it is contrived, it is stark truth that we absolutely are not
definitely “willing” to look at ourselves hence we end up in trouble. Excellent Sara…Go ahead.
when the husband called doctor to discuss the problem, how could he listen the doctors advice.
thats bullshit…….. his wife had to shout loudly to make him hear her, where as no such thing happned while he was with the doctor. Poorly prepared joke
Actually, U she shouted out of frustration
Actually, she* shouted out of frustration

Yes it is happening daily in our homes. We never look at ourselves.
Excellent sara
Poor Sameer .. must have got scared!! :O
In whatever situation we’re in, we have to check ourselves first.y Most people just like to criticize the other partner and forget about themselves. When we forget ourselves, we’re in trouble.
