Would You Like To Live In Such A World ???

One day Salma thought of making something healthy for her kid to eat so she prepared vegetable stew for her daughter Saba. Saba was 9 years old and never liked vegetable stew.

Littlegirl

Knowing that Saba disliked vegetable stew, Salma called out to her husband Siraj who was reading a magazine, “Could you please come here and make your lovely daughter eat?”

Siraj at once rushed to make his beloved daughter eat her food. Saba sat there all scared and staring at the bowl of food kept in front of her.

Siraj cried, “My dear Saba, please have few spoonfuls of the stew for daddy’s sake. If you don’t have it mommy will scold your daddy.”

With tears in her eyes Saba agreed to have the food, but on one condition. She told, “Daddy, if I have all the food will you give me whatever I ask for?” “Sure darling”, her daddy said.

“Promise?”, Saba said with her little hand stretched and told her daddy to convince her mommy too. Salma agreed reluctantly. Siraj covered her soft hand agreeing to give whatever Saba would ask for.

Siraj said, “Darling, Please don’t ask for something expensive, because Daddy doesn’t have so much money right now”

“Nothing expensive, Daddy !”, Saba said as she slowly started eating her food.

After having finished her food with much difficulty Saba turned to her father and said, ”Daddy, I want to have my head shaved off!”

“What Rubbish!”,  her mother shouted.

Siraj calmly told Saba, “Saba Darling, Please ask for something else as this is not a right thing to do.”

“No, Daddy, I don’t want anything else” Saba said firmly.

Saba was in tears and told, “Mommy and Daddy you both had promised me that you would give me whatever I would ask for and now you are breaking your promise while I have kept mine and ate my food with so much trouble. That’s not fair!”

Sadly Siraj agreed and said, “Darling, please don’t cry your wish will be fulfilled” He took Saba to the barber’s shop and got her head shaved.

Next day, Siraj dropped Saba at her school. While he was about to leave, he saw a little girl about his daughter’s age shouting as she got out of her car, “Saba, please wait for me!”. Siraj noticed a strange thing here. He saw that the girl was bald too and thought to himself maybe it was a new trend they were following.

Suddenly he heard a gentleman say, “Sir, you have a great daughter!” he continued, “The girl you just saw is my daughter. She is suffering from cancer and has lost her hair due to her ongoing treatment. Every kid in the school used to tease her she was so afraid that she had even refused to go to school. It was Saba who encouraged her to come to school again and promised her that she would save her from all the teasing. The man told Siraj that he was shocked to see Saba bald that morning and never thought even in his remotest imagination that Saba would sacrifice her beautiful hair for his daughter’s sake and told Siraj that God had blessed him with a great soul.

Siraj was astonished and stood there weeping. He was so proud of his daughter.

Moral of the Story:

Sometimes our kids teach us great lessons. Kids are innocent and have beautiful hearts which only understand the language of love. Their love is selfless and every adult should learn this quality of kids. We should always love our near and dear ones whole heartedly without expecting anything in return just like kids do. Good friends are a gift from God Almighty. Love your friends whole heartedly without expecting anything in return so you get the same kind of love back. The World would then become a wonderful place to live.

Would you not want to live in such a beautiful World ???

Yeah, great! Really edifying and ennobling but these are just populist legends. How many kids does anyone know who are capable of doing something even remotely similar to this tale? Today’s kids are nothing but their parent’s worst nightmare come true.

Realy heart touching story. There are so many things we should learn from children

That’s true Shruthi. Many times we Adults just ignore children’s thoughts assuming they are children and no way they can think so deep. Which is so not true ! Children can teach us a lot of things if we listen to them and try to understand their views. If the same thing comes from an Adult we take heed and accept it with all our heart, but if it comes from a kid we tend to ignore it without giving it a fair thought. Human Nature !! 🙁
