Sand And Stone – A Beautiful Moral Lesson !

This is a story of two best friends Yasin and Ahmed.

One day Yasin and Ahmed were walking through the Desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and Ahmed punched Yasin in the face.
Yasin was very hurt, but without saying a word, he wrote in the sand “Today my best friend punched me in the face”.

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. Yasin became very happy and in his excitedment he got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but Ahmed saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone “Today my best friend saved my life”.

They again started walking towards their destination. Ahmed was confused and was in deep thought, he finally asked Yasin, “When I hurt you by punching you in the face, you wrote the words in the sand and now that I saved your life, you wrote on a stone, why?”

Yasin replied “When someone hurts us we should write it down in the sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must Engrave it in the stone where no wind can ever erase it.”

Moral of the story

Do not value the things you have in your life. But value who you have in your life.

It’s not like your dear ones will never hurt you, they definitely will intentionally or unintentionally. During such times always remember the good things they did for you. Try to forgive and forget the bad things about your loved ones, but never forget the good they did for you.
