The Man and the Car- An Eye Opening Lesson!

~The things we regret the most in life are not the mistakes we made, but the opportunities we missed~

8504145769_c605f0c212There was a poor girl that lived by the countryside and who everyday walked out in the cold morning to wash herself up in the freezing water. Then she gathered her stuff and walked off to school. She left school early because she could not afford full day education. She walked out at the corner intersection and sold little things to get few dollars to support her family. Everyday, people passed her ignoring her please to buy things.

One day a man brought out a huge wad of money, shook it in front of her a few times and gave her a few coins. She did not ask for the rest, although she could tell the man could do without it. One day the man was driving to a very important meeting and his car broke down right in front of the girl’s stall. The girl saw the man flip out his cell phone only to discover that his battery was dead. With no other connection, he got out and stood angrily at the side of the road. No one stopped by to ask him if they could help and ignored the man waving his hands for help. A few minutes later, he realized that he had left his keys inside his car too and was now locked out. His wallet was sitting inside his car! The girl saw it all from the side of the road. The man’s money did not help him in this case. She thought of the situation she had seen the man in, and compared it to the life of people everywhere.

The man’s earlier part of the day was like the current worldly life we live. When we have a chance to do good we should do it right away. We have so many blessings (money for the man in this case) and we are usually very stingy (giving only few coins) to the poor. Before we know it though, at any given time, we can and will die (man’s car broke down) and then no one can do anything for us. No one can help us just like no one helped the man, we have no connection with the world (cell has no battery), we have no money (he left his wallet) and we can’t change what we did in the past (already locked out of car) . Not money, not wealth, not time etc.  So therefore…

WHEN YOU HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO DO GOOD, GO FOR IT BECAUSE WHO KNOWS? THE OPPORTUNITY MIGHT NOT COME BACK!

Another moral

Now the man felt what the girl went through, standing in the cold and begging people to buy stuff to help her. Similarly now he was standing at the side of the road begging people for a ride. So remember, when you see someone in need, don’t brush them away. Always think about how you would feel if you were in that situation. Be grateful for what you have, for in this way you are blessed with more by Almighty God.
