A Master once asked his students what they wanted to become when they grew up. A variety of responses came from the students.
One of them wanted to be “A Doctor”, another wanted to be “An Engineer”, yet another said “A Policeman”,and “A Teacher” and “Business man” and so on.
While each of the student was expressing his/her aspiration, the Master noticed that one of the students named “Sameer” was sitting quiet and still.
So the Master asked him, “Sameer, what do you want to be when you grow up?”
“Possible” Sameer replied.
“Possible?” asked the Master surprisingly.
“Yes,” said Sameer and continued, “My mother always tells me I’m impossible. So when I grow up, I want to be possible.”
Moral of the story – Do not be resentful towards your children, or you would end up discouraging them. It is really easy in this success mad culture to discourage your children.
Be a source of encouragement and support for your children.
Remember not every kid is like the kid in the story. Embittering your kids could crush their spirits.
This is one the best stories I ever read.
A very good one
