    Just cut F and E from FIVE and you will get four(IV).

    Five written in word in upper case will bring out four in Roman figure, demonstrated thus: FIVE > F(IV)E > IV. So Roman figure IV has come in between FIVE in word

    Just cut F and E from FIVE And you will get IV=4.

    Roman numerical for 5 is V and in order to make it read 4 in the same numerical it is IV
