True Happiness – Moral Story

A young man was feeling very unhappy, so he went to a Scholar and told him ” I am in desperate need of help – or I’ll go crazy. We’re living in a single room, my wife, my children and my in-laws. So our nerves are on edge, we yell and scream at one another. The room is hell!”

“Do you promise to do whatever I tell you?” said the Scholar.

“I am ready to do anything to get out of this situation.” said the young man.

“Very well. How many animals do you have?”

“A horse, a goat and seven hens.”

“Take them all into you room and stay with them for a few days.”

The young man was appalled. But he had promised to obey! So he took the animals in his room. A week later he came back, a pitiable figure moaning, ” I’m a nervous wreck. The dirt! The stench! The noise! We’re all on the verge of madness!”

“Go back,” said the Scholar, ” and put the animals out.”

The man ran all the way home. And came back the following day, his eyes sparkling with joy.

“How sweet life is! The animals are out. The home is a paradise – so quiet and clean and roomy!”

Moral: To know what True Happiness is, look at people who are less privileged than you, in terms of money, health & status. You will always appreciate whatever you have & never become ungrateful.

everyone is telling us to look at pple who r less than us in happiness, money , health etc, and this is dis encouraging !! this will never make u move forward, or fix what annoys us in life !!!! why they dont tell us to look at happy people and learn from them!!
    i hate such advises

In Knowlege in religion and faith, in morals, in skills and careers you look at those above you to try and become better, you take them as a role model, and challenge yourself and others to reah to the highest levels.

In wealth and probably health, in circumstances in life which you have no control upon, in terrible conditions which you can do nothing about, in tough hardships… you look at those below you to be grateful towards God and be preserving and content. To be able to live on, stand tougjh and firm, and not be too depresed. You understand?

Its not always looking up, nor always looking down, its in the middle, look up and down, and see where you are and where you should be.

Very good answer Misk…this is exactly as Allah told us too…

Life is a single time opportunity for everyone. This is upto us now whether we spend it objectively or waste it by fixing blames on others or by having complaints with our fortune.

Thanksfulness is the BASIC ingredient to overcome our challanges. The people who are not thanksful, remain in the same condition always.

Our conditions are our assignments being assigned by Allah to every individual. He (Allah) has given us the wisdom, the guideline, the solution of every possible situation, line of action, skills and potential…how we use these gifts of nature to fulfill our assignments will be the main question i think.

May Allah bless all of us…aamin

These stories are getting weaker and less structured everyday… Sara you don’t have to provide us a new story everyday, it’s quality over quantity 🙂

The thing which looks agony actually is more better than what we do not like.

A good moral story. Happiness is from inside not coming from what you own or have from outside

Excellent, practical & motivating experience and should be read by the grumblers of this earth, who always crib for more & more and snatch (Land grab) whatever little they get not only from their neighbors but even own family members. IT’S A WAKE UP CALL.
