Could This Be True About Libya & Gaddafi?

According to Srilankan Guardian website:

1. There is no electricity bill in Libya; electricity is free for all its citizens.

2. There is no interest on loans, banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law.

3. Home considered a human right in Libya – Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a home. Gaddafi’s father has died while him, his wife and his mother are still living in a tent.

4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinar (US$ 50,000 ) by the government to buy their first apartment to help start up the family.

5. Education and medical treatments are free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans were literate. Today the figure is 83%.

6. Should Libyans want to take up farming as a career, they would receive farming land, a farming house, equipments, seeds and Livestock to kick- start their farms – all for free.

7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government funds them to go abroad for it – not only free but they get US $2, 300/month accommodation and car allowance.

8. In Libya, if a Libyan buys a car, the government pays 50% of the price.

9. The price of petrol in Libya is $0. 14 per liter.

10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion – now frozen globally.

11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation the state would pay the average salary of the profession if he or she is employed until employment is found.

12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is, credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens.

13. A mother who gave birth to a child receive US $5 ,000 .

14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs $ 0.15

15.  25% of Libyans have a university degree

16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man-Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country.

    unfortunately most of that are lies
    Lybians did not get their own salary for years and living just from the bad food that the government give to them
    very bad hospitals and almost no services
    patients in lybia who wants small operations go to Egypt to make it

    Stop spreading out these lies
    and please do not publish anything you do not sure of it OR if you do not know the whole truth .

    Well all commentors, that is right that libyaian know better of what they faced themselves, ye, one question arises as to Why NATO and Americans are allowed and thought of bringing peace and tranquility in countries specially in Arab and muslim African countries and Asia as well. Do we muslims have answer to it. We are rich in resources and he has been managing it to confiscate all from us.

    Gadaffi is dead.That is a fact no one can dispute. Lets also allow Abier and others to show their resentments but the truth shall remain that what happened in Libya wasnt a Jihad.America and NATO simply killed a leader who refused to dance to their tune.  .Just wait and see, They will soon install a puppet leader who will rule by the democracy Abier and others are craving for. Surely not by Islamic shariah.

      same from more than 2 decades.   It’s OK to eradicate the Dictators like Saddam
      or Gaddafi really if they are, but is this the right method to do it?

      NATO & Americans providing the better life than before to those countries
      by electing puppet leaders?

    Gaddafi was a despotic ruler, is indeed a fact. But let me ask only one question- Who the hell are USA plus colonial powers to decide the fate of Muslim world? And if the USA has that much a big heart which beats and bleeds for the ‘Muslims’, why don’t they come up with a solution to the people of Palestine & Kashmir? The simple answer is- These two places are not ‘OIL’ rich soils. 
    I can bet, the new Libya will be more worst than the Gaddafi regime.

    You are glorifying a dictator with false information. Plus suppose he was doing these thing (which are not tru at all), would you loke to receive them and in the same time and members of your family would be tortured or killed? Gaddafi changed the currency several time, and every time he would give only 5000 dinars for whatever amount anyone had, plus many more horrible things such as executing innocent people at TV at iftar time during Ramadan and forcing their families to watch.

    I have no idea where did these ideas come from!! they are just said everywhere!! and i know NONE of them is true!! i am egyptian and i have never been to Libya…but i am sure that Libyan people are one of the best people in the world and they wouldnt make a revolution if that was true! Besides EVEN if that was true then it doesnt matter…because Gaddafi killed his people!

    It doesnt make sense if i give you money..and then kill you! O_o??

    this is a good article but let me add a few things

    that guy kicked out the British from Libya after he became the leader
    he banned alcoholic drinks
    he (I’m sure you’ll like this) made a married man if he wanted to marry another woman have to get written permission from the first one to get married another time
    he made people pay zakat
    he tried many times to make the Muslims united (when he was head of the AU he said he wanted to make the United states of Africa)
    he always had great relations with African countries
    and many more

    Well this is what Gaddafi and his slaves says:
    I am not Libyan, truly I am not, but I had been in Libya for nearly 5 years, I know what is being said and what is the truth.
    All what is free is true but only for Gaddafi and his family, thousands of unmarried men and women in Libyan because they can’t afford to get married and there is not help at all (at all not even $1) from the government. Yes the price yes the price of bread and oil is true but do you know how much the average salary in Libya: I was teaching in Libya I way getting around $150 and this is because I was getting foreign currency. a Libyan citizen doesn’t get even half of that (you might be shocked on how is that you can ask any one who lived there.
    So Please guys try not to loose your credibility by supporting such people.
    Again I swear to ALLAH that I am not Libyan, I just want to tell the truth

    I seriously doubt these claims are true. If they are true, then why are Libyan people in such a bad condition. I know a Libyan engineer and he tells me he doesn’t have a house and that the Libyan people are in very bad shape financially. I don’t think you have any soures to prove these claims.

    Sorry , the above point about Gaddafi 90% of them not true, as Libyans, we pay for the electricity and not free, except for his people (thieves of Libya), there is Bank interest as all the world do, from 1976 he rope the houses and factories from the private owners to be possessed to the country Properties as in Communism countries, Libyan people did not receive any money from government for any type of help, and that is why most of young Libyan, did not get married, because they can not afford to buy a place to live in it or to have a family, the average wages in Libya during the Gaddfi era is about 300 Libyan dinar (US$240),
    Yes, the education and medical treatment are free but one of the lowest in the world, and that is way allot of Libyans do go abroad for medical treatments.
    The Infrastructure of the country is very bad, roads, Sewage, damaged….. Taxes of imported cars, 
    If you want to now Libya during Gaddafi era, will be Summarized as follow (Libya is one of the richest county in the world, and Libyan people is one of the poorest people of the world), 
    And who wrote the above article must be one of Gaddafi’s closest who does not know the normal Libyan people or who listen to Gaddafi’s closes Liars….

    if those stats are true then it’s hard to explain why the anti-gaddafi protests began in the first place. only if libya was occupied by a foreign power would human & political rights become the driving cause for protest and struggle for freedom. anyway it’s too late for this now but the main fear is when the new leaders of libya allow imperialist powers into their country under the guise of re-building it having had destroyed it.

      every emroyer or king doesn’t accept any resistance to him & if you search in the world history you’ll see much more killings that worse than Gaddafi,like in china & many other countries at least for the rest of people that doesn’t resist him, they lived in a very luxury way.

            if you read the ayaat that was in my last comment, they said that those who doesn’t rule/judge with what Allah has sent down are the following three things: transgressors, unjust and infidels! does that make him a “muslim”? maybe he said “la ilaha illa allah, muhammad rasulu allah” but what he was doing everyday was making him kafir!
            he killed people! and like i don’t support any of the other “muslim” leaders, i didn’t support him! like i didn’t support osama bin laden, i didn’t support gaddafi!

            i know that they’re all corrupt! like NATO, US, UN etc.!

            btw. in the 80s i wasn’t born… i was born in the middle of the 90s so i was a little kid and i probably thought that gaddafi was some kind of toy!
            So what made me strong to revolt against him in 2011 is my fatih in Allah, his Messenger and the Holy Qur’an! what made me strong to revolt against him in 2011 is that i know he’s not a toy! what made me strong to revolt against him and the rest of the “leaders” in the muslim world is that i know that he and all the others are TYRANTS! they’re “transgressors, unjust and infidels!”

            i’m not even 20 years old so how should i be able to speak up in the 80s?! oh yeah i should just send my mom a text message! RIGHT!

            Abier, I agree with you with all what you said.. and here comes the big BUT .. you should watch out on using the word “infidels” even if a muslim leader don’t use Shariia to rule the country, there’s two types of Kuf’r , Kufr Al 3amal, and Kuf’r Al 3akida, do some reading on that so you don’t fall in the trap of Takfiriyine, God bless

            you spend a lot on the internet……..you can do this service to wake up youth to think about Egypt………..now military is doing bad things there………..I fear same for Libya as good ones are leaving their countries cuz of lack of leadership and full of fear to rage war against bad things in the whole world………we seek comfort at the cost of our faith and humanity.             Yeah i do spend a lot of time on the internet… And that’s mostly because almost everything you need for studying in Denmark is Internet….
            I actually do like to discuss things like what’s happening in the muslim world… I do like to make people think more on their own in stead of just following the common mind.
            I want people to wake up and that’s something i can contribute to by opening discussions like this on websites like this…
            I fear for the whole Ummah…. 
            But inshaa Allah people are beginning to wake up. We’ll prove that our beloved Prophet (pbuh) was right when he said “You are the final of seventy nations, you are the best and most honoured among them to Allah.” And we’ll prove that the ayah in Qur’an that says “You are the best people ever raised for the good of mankind because you have been raised to serve others; you enjoin what is good and forbid evil and believe in Allah.” (3:111). is right!

            We were promised a Khilafah Rashidah and it’s closer than it has been for the last many years.

            I agree with the “evil minds” thing, and that’s not only in the muslim world, but everywhere.

            What i think about Occupy Wall street? i’ll be very honest and say that i haven’t really looked much at this topic but i know a little….
            i think it’s good that people finally realized that there’s something wrong about the systems all over the world. And that’s a positive thing because now they’re more receptive towards other ways of thinking…. For example Islams solution for the things they’re protesting against…!
