A young man wished to marry the farmer’s beautiful daughter. He went to the farmer to ask his permission. The farmer looked him over and said,
“Son, go stand out in that field. I’m going to release three bulls, one at a time. If you can catch the tail of any one of the three bulls, you can marry my daughter.”
The young man stood in the pasture awaiting the first bull.
The barn door opened and out ran the biggest, meanest-looking bull he had ever seen. He decided that one of the next bulls had to be a better choice than this one, so he ran over to the side and let the bull pass through the pasture out the back gate.
The barn door opened again. Unbelievable. He had never seen anything so big and fierce in his life. It stood pawing the ground, grunting, slinging slobber as it eyed him. Whatever the next bull was like, it had to be a better choice than this one. He ran to the fence and let the bull pass through the pasture, out the back gate.
The door opened a third time. A smile came across his face. This was the weakest, scrawniest little bull he had ever seen. This one was his bull. As the bull came running by, he positioned himself just right and jumped at just the exact moment. He grabbed… but the bull had no tail!
Sara
why I can’t copy?
something is better than nothing…never give up any challenge atleast try it…
GOOD LESSON,,,
So when ever you are challeneged give it a go, even you loose you will make atleast 1 point out of 10, rahter ZERO in each round..
quite right
so, the father will say, you left the hard ones and took the easy one, now, i understood, you have tried some other girls, and as my daughter is the easiest you took here, this is cheap mentality, I will not give my daughter to somebody who thinks that you have chosen because you did not get a better one!!!
too good
it shows that when the opportunity presents itself you have to grab it with both hands thanks Sara great lesson
really good
A fierce bull with a tail is worth as many with no tail, taking into account the purpose of this story. A.lesson that one should never let go opportunities, in the expectation of a better alternative. But who knows whether you will still be there the next moment. Or the girl? or the bulls?
really good
thanks for these nice useful story
Good 1
When we are talking about an opportunity, it is likely that the opportunity lies in and around us giving us an opening, occasion, possibility, chance and so on to complement and supplement our original objectives to increase the outputs with a great extent, even by many folds. One should be rational, calculative and intelligent enough to capitalize the opportunities relevant to him for his particular activity.
In this particular story, if the young man could grab the tail of either the first or second bull, he might be putting himself into a great risk and danger. He was right in his decision letting the first two bulls go. But he was so unfortunate that third doesn’t have tail and therefore he has missed the opportunity to marry the beautiful girl. Remember, there are some beautiful girls in and around town even more beautiful than the farmer’s daughter. He should and could find out and avail the next opportunity. Therefore, I don’t agree with the moral that one should always avail the first opportunity and make his/her life in danger. One should be very careful to ensure his safety.
Thank you Sara for giving us a good story.
the opportunity’s advantages and disadvantages, to take the 1st advantage of the opportunity it is good but, it may be less than your expectation and, so to wait for the second one which it may never come through or if it comes it may be less than the 1st one, so from my point of view take the first one cuze it is a blessing/gift from the god..
there is a short story in this regard which says: once the state of emergency was announced in a country that there will be a very strong typhoon in the way so, the govt. asked all the citizen’s who leaves that area to vecate their houses and go to shelter which has been prepared for them, all the people start moving out instantly with except one person who was thinking that can manage him self out of this crises.
the typhoon started sudenly and the city filled with water and the trees started falling, at this time the cust gard appeared offering their helps in picking up the people, as the cust gard were passing they found him sitting on a tree, they called him to get down and get in to the boat, he replaid that he can swim and he is not afraid, the storm was getting taughter and more serious, so the govt. start sending helicopters for those who were setting on roof of their houses, at this time the pilot noticed the same man sitting on the top roof of his house so, the rescurs told him to climb the lader so they can pick him up, he again made some excuses untill the flood was passing the roof and he found him self alone there with no body to help, so he srart paniking and seeking help from the god at this time Izraeel came through and told him that the govt. announced all to vacate the area but you denialed that worning, the second time the god send you the custgards and offered you help, you still were obstining that request, and the third time the god send you the helicopter for rescuing you.Now it is upon you to help your self.
Husain u r right
really it is confusing
dr gulam also right if he is attacked by the bull —may die
Imran was also right–he says live or die –miss or gain
Nice…
Half baked bread.
The moral message mentioned is not in the story/
Sara! If he were a high-IQued fella, he should have known about this
pre-condition and practised sufficiently so that he could offer the first
bull to be caught by the horns!!!
Anyway, I like the cameo.
opportunities are endless , at it need is the right eye to choose the right opportunity in right time.
opportunities are endless , at it need is the right eye to choose the right opportunity in right time.
It is nice story Sara.
Thanks for sharing!
Yes u r right brother…. it can’t be but fully true…
Nice but not up to the standard, as life gives many chances. It is the only destiny, whatever is written there, decision is our.
the chances where just right there , but he didn’t catch up any of them,
it is really a nice story
🙂
a bird in hand is worth ten on the bush
Yeah Sara agreed with moral; whenever one got choices try hard right from the beginning to grab the best one.
Want to add Nayera’s comment:
For every cruical decision go for Istikhara InshALLAH Allah Pak help us for the best decision in hand.
Regards,
Omar
awesome
ver very nice
I totally agree with nahil, but by all means we have to do our best and leave the rest to ALLAH (SWT), this story reminds me of rabbit and turtle story. I think the moral of this story is not to postpond what we have to do now waiting, for something unknown might have happened could be better than what we have in our hand.
nayra may be also worst if you attack
really very nice
you’re not gonna get, but what was already written in your book, we make choices when “opportunities” show up, and even if we jump right at the first one, no one would guarantee that it’s the best!!! one has to assume their choices and never regret them!!
I agree with Nahil, thanks for wonder comment – Sara Admin
What if that’s what is written …that one has to try & opt for the best opportunities…E’maan also means trying & effort taking… this is definiotely a part of E’maan…alhumdulillah… to do our best & have no further doubts … & leave the result to Allah Baari Tha’aala.
habiba I will not agree with u allah gave us brain to use
if I have iman can I fight by hand with lion? I should have to use my brain in such matters
I don’t know … but i don’t believe it’s the first or the fourth thing , life’s about suitable and rational choices … who we are and what we’re capable of .
Thats quite fine Mohsentahr
Does that include marriage? 😛
in particulare for marriage you have to pray Ist7ära prayer, asking ALLAH (SWT) to guide you to the best and the most important is to accept what is ALLAH choose for u
Nayera i think Istikhara is the best way!!!
nayera no time to pray isakara he gave him 3 choises he should have to take one if a tiger cames to attack me shall I pray istakra or run away?????
ultimate
It’s a good moral story which states never let your chance go. I won’t forget this one.
I thought that the third one would be the biggest so he would miss all chances but my guess failed. Anyway it was a good one, thanks.
Yep, some stories are just such we can’t imagine!!!
Regards – Sara
good one…
Thanks Aftab
