Consider the metaphor of a traveler. What happens when you’re traveling or you know that your stay is only temporary? When you’re passing through a city for one night, how attached do you get to that place? If you know it’s temporary, you’ll be willing to stay at Motel 6. But would you like to live there? Probably not. Suppose your boss sent you to a new town to work on a limited project. Suppose he didn’t tell you exactly when the project would end, but you knew that you could be returning home, any day. How would you be in that town? Would you invest in massive amounts of property and spend all your savings on expensive furniture and cars? Most likely not. Even while shopping, would you buy cart-loads of food and other perishables? No. You’d probably hesitate about buying any more than you need for a couple days – because your boss could call you back any day.
This is the mindset of a traveler. There is a natural detachment that comes with the realization that something is only temporary.
Life of this World is nothing but a test
We belong to Him and to Him we all will return
What will remain are the deeds (good/bad). Period
Miss Rani,
Surrender to His will without joining partners in him, neither in his existence nor in his attributes.
Thanks
Nothing is permanent in this world.
The life of this world, but the pleasures of vanity
Life is short and we are all travelers so, do the best, forgive everyone and help others.
Live in he PRESENT MOMENT and enjoy as long as you breathe. Live as if its your last moment and note the change in life.
Life is a stage where we all are sent by the Almighty with a purpose and various roles. The Bible says- “Your heart is where your treasure is”. If you treasure material world and its belongings, you will always be caught in its mad rat-race. Give God the first place and surrender before His holy will saying that He will always give the best. Finally, don’t forget we only propose, but God disposes. So. don’t keep a lot of worldly attachments for you never know when He is going to call you back home.
Lovely reminder
Do we need any of these kind of stories while we have a hadeeth with same meaning!!!!!!!
Only Muslims know about hadeeth.
Thanks.
Dear Sana,
You’re absolutely right. Everybody in this life is living temporally just like an actor in a play, once his or her role is finished he will leave.
Earth is now. Heaven is forever.
Work for earthly life like you live forever, and Work for the hereafter like you die tomorrow.
The Life here in this World is Temporary and we should not spend our time merely for gaining worldly ‘stuffs’. Should also spend time to accompany something in the next ETERNAL life (for The Hereafter).
When you rationaliz your travel programme you don’t feel the need to worry……..
The moral can be: World is not a man’s destination.
MUSFIR HU YAARO NA GHAR HE NA THIKANA,MUZE BUS JAANA HAI.
Ofcourse no sane traveller will invest heaviy on a temporary abode.
Let’s all be sane and invest wisely on the permanent abode.
May our “investments” yeild the appropriate dividen for us.
Amin.
If this is the atitude in this example what about the “real” life (the eternal life)
