“I have been able, for these past two years, to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your master’s house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don’t get full value from your efforts,” the pot said.
The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and in his compassion he said, “As we return to the master’s house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path.”
Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path, and this cheered it some. But at the end of the trail, it still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and so again it apologized to the bearer for its failure.
The bearer said to the pot, “Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of your path, but not on the other pot’s side? That’s because I have always known about your flaw, and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back from the stream, you’ve watered them.
For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my master’s table. Without you being just the way you are, he would not have this beauty to grace his house.”
Moral
Each of us has our own unique flaws. We’re all cracked pots.
But if rightly utilized our flaws can become our greatest assets.
The story is a old one. In fact it was a Chinese story beautifully videowed with lilting music to go with. I have been using this story in my motivational classes for students over the last few years. Except for the fact that it is a repeat, no body can take away the moral behind the story. Each of us have our own flaws as the story goes and as long as we don’t look to them as flaws life will be full of happiness. Thanks for reproducing a good story for the benefit all readers.
This is so sweet.
Sometimes, we do good things even within our imperfections!
Thanks, SaRa!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Khan.
This is a Chinese moral story, but not as Indian.
wooooweeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!! like it……….beautiful angelic story
Nice to know you liked it smurf!
It is perfectly good to be imperfect that means you are growing towards perfection it means you are in a living process which there is no end to it perfecion is a dead thing it means your growth has stopped. so the only perfect thing in life is to be imperfect.
philosophical saying Mahdi ๐
No, sara it is not philosophical saying if you meditate deeply you will find it more existential than philosophical perfect is just a word no where in existent you will find it and if you come across any thing perfect please let me know totality , wholeness , completeness, yes you can find but perfection you will never find.
Perfect comment Mahdi. Now i understood perfection and imperfection in a perfect way.
โWe are all wonderful, beautiful wrecks. That’s what connects us–that we’re all broken, all beautifully imperfect.โ ? Emilio Estevez

A very wise man indeed !
The people who get on in this world ,
are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want ,
and if they can’t find them , then they make them !!!
