What is Food Shortage?

A survey was conducted throughout the world and the question asked was: “Would you please give your honest opinion about the solution to the food shortage in the rest of the world?”Β

The survey was, not surprisingly, a total failure. Because:

In Africa they didn’t know what “food” meant.

In the Middle East they didn’t know what “solution” meant.

In Western Europe they didn’t know what “shortage” meant.

In Eastern Europe they didn’t know what “honest” meant.

In China they didn’t know what “opinion” meant.

In South America they didn’t know what “please” meant.

And, in the USA they didn’t know what “the rest of the world” meant.

Dear Reader, what is your opinion??

On a serious note, in my own opinion, there won’t be food shortage if adequate and suitable food preservation is done when there is fresh food in abundance.

Middle Eastern Countries should take of food shortage where ever it is as they are filthy rich and they have ample amount of food and money. Countries Like .U.A.E, Saudi Aribia ETC.

This exactly represents global differences across regions, cultures and civilizations which we should consider in our relationships.

Survey was not conducted in India, otherwise they would have definitely found a solutions. We have enough food and understand how to be pleased. But dont know how to use things in a right way.

I think it is more of a distribution problem + the fact that those who ‘have’ consume more than necessary.

I THINK WE ALSO DON’T KNOW WHAT IS FOOD SHORTAGE MEANS BECAUSE WE HAVE EVERY THING AND THANKS ALLAH WHO PROVIDES US LOTS OF THINGS THAT WE DON’T DESERVE. THE PROBLEM IS WE JUST WANT TO FILL OUR STOMACH WE DON’T HELP OTHERS IF WE HELP OTHERS WITH FOOD & OTHER THINGS THEN WE WILL BE BEST…… AND NO SHORTAGE WILL BE COME TILL THE END.

All the statements are correct based on it’s region.
And the reason is “World Politics” and the leaders of those regions/countries.

Just look at Somalia, Sudan and some of those similar countries; famine takes huge amount of life and so called leaders doesn’t care who is dying of food shortages, as long as their Bank accounts are pouring with donation dollars.

Look at most of the Middle Eastern region, by the name of of Democracy, what’s happening there !! Libya, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon…..Peace is like “Golden Deer” for them.

Don’t know much about Western Europe; if at all they had abandoned food supplies, now we can see what’s going on there? Seems like nothing is working. Greece, Spain, Italy and so on………..

Eastern Europe for “Honesty” ?? What about Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Myanmar and all those South Asian Countries? I would say the organization that performed the survey; did not go that side of the world at all.

For “Opinion” of China, very true. You can not open your mouth against Chinese Government. You’ll be done for life πŸ™‚

“Please” for South America, they don’t have that word in their dictionary, similar to most of the Asian countries. When referring to “Please” they feel insulted πŸ™

And finally for America, absolutely right. Americans doesn’t know what’s the rest of the world and they don’t care at all.

I would say “History repeats itself” and we might not see the reverse situation in our life time. I’m sure there are some other “World Power” rising up and that’s not that far. We are just destroying ourselves !! May God Bless all of us !!

I am not going to argue about the whole middle east but since i am an egyptian i need to make one point clear. First of all nobody unless he is living here would understand how messed up things are in egypt. we have had thirty years of corruption. you think it is easy to erase all of these problems from illiteracy to poverty to strategic problems are easy to solve?

  22. mar June 14, 2012 at 10:19 PM #

sorry i didn’t get it. how come the middle east doesn’t understand the term solution. perhaps because the problems for the middle east are numerous and extremely hard that solutions are hard to get. is that why they don’t understand the term solution?

  23. Alaa June 14, 2012 at 6:23 PM #

I think non of above regions do not know the meaning of the question, they have a solusion but they donot want but havenot willing to do an thing.
