Apple iPhone – Made in Japan

Apparently the Apple Co.  decided to have some of its iPhone parts manufactured in Japan as a trial project.

In the specifications, they set out that they will accept only 5 defective parts per 20,000.

When the delivery came in there was an accompanying letter.

‘We, Japanese people, had a tough time understanding American Business practices.

But the five defective parts per 20,000 have been separately manufactured and have been included in the consignment in a separate packaging clearly mentioned

‘Defective pieces as per requirement, not for use’.

Hope the products are to your satisfaction.’

Hope you liked it. Please share it with your friends.

This is not a loke, true story General Electric USA, started business with Japan after 2nd world war to get cheap parts. They ordered 200,000 car head light bulbs as a test consignment ,L/C established after negociations with maximim 3% rejection allowed. and Japanese were working on thier own management system called (Zero defect policy). Confused Japanese sent 3% rejected bulbs with the consignment alongwith a letter saying, first of all, we do not undersatand your requirement if you please let us know what is the usage of these rejected bulbs and if you require more we have over few million bulbs which was rejected by our quality controll staff at the factory, we can provide you , actually we even dont know what to do with these bulbs.

that’s how the japanese entered to the global market (ZERO DEFECT POLICY)
