V8 Land-Cruiser in Saudi falls down a 60m well.
You’d think that they’d at least put up a flag to let people know there’s a 100 mt hole there. This happened in Saudi a few days ago. In areas where there is fresh water under ground the locals dig wells and support the sides with concrete and stones to keep the sand from falling back in to the well. Some of these are up to 100 meters deep. This particular one was 60 meters deep and 4 meters wide, located outside a small town of Riyadh in the center of Saudi. The guys went out in the desert for a bit of fun on a Thursday when one of them drove in to the well and dropped 60 meters to the bottom with his V8 Cruiser.
See below to unfold the event.
Rescue workers retrieved the car and Miraculously the driver survived just having a mild concussion from hitting his head against the wind screen.
praise be to god for his safety
This incedent happend few years ago not few days ago.
It happend on Thursday November 13th 2008. 60 kilometers north of Hafr Albatin. The driver Ziad alshammary is still alive. The well is now well protected by concrete fence with warning signs.

Greetings, I am from Saudi Arabia and I’m very familiar with this specific incident, this happened in early 2010 and as far as I know the driver was not under any influence of drugs or alcohol, it just happened that he had to drive through that area of northern Saudi at that time of night. The problem with that well is that there was no way for the people who use it to put a sign for others to know that there is a well there because it wasn’t on the way of any driving route, plus the well is located near a village and used by those villagers which only a handful of them had cars and the rest just travel by camels or on foot. It was an unfortunate incident but I’m thankful that the driver survived and that there are signs now along the highway near the well that warns people as well as signs and blocks around the well itself to prevent people from driving into the well. Thank you for the post and appreciate the thoughtful and positive comments.
