Indeed this shows that we must be grateful to Allah in whatever situation we found ourselves.
    Allah Akbar.

Great moral thought. One should always appreciate whom he/she is and what he/she has. God is Great

  5. Rania March 14, 2015 at 3:27 PM #

Allow me to add on your moral; satisfaction with what god had given you is great but satisfaction should be also with what GOD had taken from you. Do not compare your self with what you have been in the past.

Every day you are a new born and satisfaction should be renewed, always we should accept god well.

What a delightful and thought-provoking story! I’ll be using it during the first class of my Economic Development course at Ryerson University (in Toronto, Canada). The first topic in the course deals with the meaning and multi-dimensional aspects of development, one of which is Development and Happiness. Clearly, happiness is part of human well-being, and greater happiness may in itself expand an individual’s capability to function effectively. The renowned British scholar Richard Layard, author of the book titled Happiness: Lessons from a new Science, identifies seven factors that surveys show affect average national happiness: family relations, financial situation, work, community and friends, health, personal freedom, and personal values. However, the Arabic saying said it best “Contentment is a limitless treasure.” This is precisely the moral of this beautiful story.

A very good moral story. Simple but to the point. This is what Allah wants us : to be satisfied with whatever we have. The garden across always appears greener.

Everybody must be satisfied of what God have given him and never compare what he has with others because he does not know in deed what troubles others may suffer. Satisfaction is a treasure.
