A Mother’s Love – Inspirational Story

A little boy came up to his mother in the kitchen one evening while she was fixing supper, and handed her a piece of paper that he had been writing on. After his Mom dried her hands on an apron, she read it, and this is what it said:
For cutting the grass: $5.00
For cleaning up my room this week: $1.00
For going to the store for you: $.50
Baby-sitting my kid brother while you went shopping: $.25
Taking out the garbage: $1.00
For getting a good report card: $5.00
For cleaning up and raking the yard: $2.00
Total owed: $14.75
Well, his mother looked at him standing there, and the boy could see the memories flashing through her mind. She picked up the pen, turned over the paper he’d written on, and this is what she wrote:
For the nine months I carried you while you were growing inside me:
No Charge
For all the nights that I’ve sat up with you, doctored and prayed for you:
No Charge
For all the trying times, and all the tears that you’ve caused through the years:
No Charge
For all the nights that were filled with dread, and for the worries I knew were ahead:
No Charge
For the toys, food, clothes, and even wiping your nose:
No Charge
Son, when you add it up, the cost of my love is:
No Charge.
When the boy finished reading what his mother had written, there were big tears in his eyes, and he looked straight at his mother and said, “Mom, I sure do love you.” And then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote: “PAID IN FULL”.
Lessons:
You will never how much your parents worth till you become a parent
Be a giver not an asker, especially with your parents. there is a lot to give, besides money.
Advice: If your mom is alive and close  to you, give her a big kiss and ask her for forgiveness. If she is far away, call her. if she passed away, pray for her.

Sara, you forgot to mention the most important thing the mother went through in giving birth to the baby. The labour period, which sometimes takes over ten hours, is so painful that it cannot be described. It has been said in a hadeeth that once a man went to the Prophet Muhammad ur Rasoolullah and narrating how he took his mother on his back all the way to Makkah, performed all the rituals, Tawaaf of Al Kaaba, doing Saee(running between to hills namely Safaa and Marwa, going to Mina, Arsafaat, Muzdalifah, back to Mina for stoning the jamaraat, slaughtering an animal and back to Makkah for Tawaaf e ziyaarat and to Mina again stoning the jamaraat for two more days and returning to Makkah for Tawaaf ul Widaa and returning home, all done on foot, he asked if he had repaid his mother’s rights upon him. The prophet of Allah said: Having done all that you have not yet repaid even for the labour pain your mother went through before giving birth to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

It is already said and all words are used for Mother, and only think is left for me are few drops of water in eyes. May ALLAH bless all those who Al Hamdolillah have their Parents live to sit in their steps specially mogther;s and those unfortunately lost mother, must follow the teachings of Islam to serve them or her which are; follow their good things, Dua-e-Mughfarat (pray) for them, pay/return if any loan on their part or return amana, sadaka khairat, visit grayyard where they are burried and offer FATEH, Meet/love and help their relatives and respect their friends, follow their instructions if given while live etc.etc.

Yes, Qazi Azhr the west should have a rethink in the way they treat thier parents, when the parents are old. That’s unthinkable, especially for the muslim, who’s ordered to respect his mum three times more than his dad. That’s the position of the mum in Islam.

  15. Sohail Yezdani June 21, 2012 at 9:43 PM #

I belong to an Asian country. We respect our mother three times more than our father. I cannot dare to handover that paper to my mother. On top our religion teaches that the Paradise is under feet of your mother.

Invites the attention of West where old homes are opened for parents. The west should review its attitude towards the old parents in general and mothers in particular.
