A cute, 7 year old, little boy went shopping with his mommy in the mall. It was heavily raining outside. The boy and his mommy along with other people waited in the mall for the rain to stop so they could make their way back home. Some people waited patiently, others irritated because the rain had messed up their whole day.
Suddenly, everybody heard a little sweet voice say, “Mommy, let’s run through the rain!”
“What?” Mommy asked.
“Let’s run through the rain!” the little boy repeated.
“No, darling. We will wait until it slows down a bit” Mommy replied.
The little boy waited a minute and again repeated, “Mommy, let’s run through the rain.”
“We will get drenched if we do” Mommy said.
“No, we won’t, Mommy. That’s not what you said this morning” the little boy said as he pulled his mommy’s arm
“When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?” Mommy said surprisingly.
“Don’t you remember?! When you were talking to Daddy today about his tumor, you said, ‘If God can get us through this, He can get us through anything!’”
Mommy paused for a while thinking about what she would say.
In such moment, some would laugh it off, others would scold him for being silly yet others would ignore him, but his mommy said something wonderful as she knew this was a very important moment in the little boy’s life. A time when innocent trust could be fostered so that it would blossom into faith.
Mommy replied, “Darling, you are absolutely right. Let’s run through the rain. If God lets us get wet, well maybe we just need washing”
Having said that mommy grabbed the little boy’s hand and ran through the rain joyfully
The entire crowd stood there watching it all and smiling and laughing at the beautiful sight. Some even followed the mommy and the little boy and made their ways to their cars laughing and screaming in the rain.
Moral of the Story
Take the time out of your busy schedules to enjoy your life! Whatever the situation maybe don’t forget to smile, the material possessions could take away your wealth and health, but they can never take away your precious memories. Live life to the fullest and enjoy each and every moment of it.
Difficult times are only a reason to become closer to God. Every problem comes to either make us or break us. Choice is ours to become victim or victorious. So don’t forget to run through the rain.
