A newly married couple John and Anna move into their new house. A small family lived in their neighbourhood.
One day, while John and Anna were having their breakfast, Anna saw that her neighbour was hanging the wash outside. “That laundry is not very clean, she doesn’t know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap”, Anna said. Her husband looked on, but remained silent.
Every time their neighbour would hang her wash to dry, Anna would make same comments. One month later Anna was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line in her neighbour’s backyard and said to her husband, ”Look! She has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her that.”
John calmly replied, “That’s because I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows !”
Moral of the Story
The same goes with our life…
The Window can be very well compared to our heart. Many a times things look dirty not because they are actually dirty, in fact, because the window through which things are looked at is dirty.
In the same way what we see when watching others depends on the purity of our heart. If heart is not clean we will end up criticizing others. Therefore, before judging others one has to check if one’s heart is clean and pure to see the good in others.
