Don’t Judge people by their Appearance – Moral Story

This will certainly make you stop and think. You never know what a kind word, a phone call, or an impromptu visit will do for someone else.
It was a cold winter’s day that Friday. The parking lot to the Mosque was filling up quickly.
I noticed as I got out of my car that fellow Mosque goers were whispering among themselves as they walked to the Mosque.
As I got closer I saw a man leaned up against the wall outside the Mosque. He was almost laying down as if he was asleep. He had on a long trench coat that was almost in shreds and a hat topped his head, pulled down so you could not see his face. He wore shoes that looked 30 years old, too small for his feet with holes all over them, his toes stuck out.
I assumed this man was homeless, and asleep, so I walked on by through the doors of the Mosque. We all waited for a few minutes, and someone brought up the man laying outside. People snickered and gossiped but no one bothered to ask him to come in, including me.
A few moments later it was time for the sermon. We all waited for the Imam to take his place and to give us the Word, when the doors to the Mosque opened. In came the homeless man walking with his head down. People gasped and whispered and made faces. He made his way and up onto the pulpit. He took off his hat and coat. My heart sank.
There stood our Imam & he was the “homeless man.” No one said a word.
We had already got our lesson even before he began the sermon began.
The Imam took his notes and laid it on the stand and said ” Be in this world as if you are a traveller & prepare for the hearafter. Because this life is temporary, and the life after death is forever!!……….”
I don’t remember what he said afterwards, but this line struck me like lightening & changed my life  for the better.

One day, a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people can be. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from the trip, the father asked his son,
“How was the trip?” “It was great, Dad.” “Did you see how poor people can be?” the father asked.
    “Oh yeah,” said the son.
“So what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father.
The son answered, “I saw that we have one dog and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.” “Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.” “We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us and they have friends to protect them.” With this, the boy’s father was speechless. Then his son added, “Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are.”
Too many times we forget what we have and concentrate on what we don’t have. What is one person’s worthless object is another’s prize possession. It is all based on one’s perspective. Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks to Allah for all the bounty we have been provided by Him instead of worrying about wanting more.
May Allah bless each and every one of you. Take joy in all that He has given us. AMEEN

Anyone can avail the Hilal given to him by Allah but the best thing is to spend it on others (the needy people).

I only remind the following the verses of Surah Al-A’raf to the Imam:
    32. Say (O Muhammad ): “Who has forbidden the adoration with clothes given by Allah, which He has produced for his slaves, and At-Taiyibat [all kinds of Halal (lawful) things] of food?” Say: “They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) exclusively for them (believers) on the Day of Resurrection (the disbelievers will not share them).” Thus We explain the Ayat (Islamic laws) in detail for people who have knowledge.
    33. Say (O Muhammad ): “(But) the things that my Lord has indeed forbidden are Al-Fawahish (great evil sins, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse, etc.) whether committed openly or secretly, sins (of all kinds), unrighteous oppression, joining partners (in worship) with Allah for which He has given no authority, and saying things about Allah of which you have no knowledge.”

Medhat….what makes you think that an Imam would not do that? Of course they do not dress like that daily, that was a trial of his congregation. It is not important if it is a true story or not. We all read it, right? it made us think twice, right?
It is a great lesson for all of us as humans

Hi Sara : The Islam is the best religion due to telling the truth , we are temporary in this life and the life for ever after death .
