The Girl Who Cared

There is a story about a beautiful & young 8 year-old girl.

The girl entered a small but busy cafe and took a seat in front of the cashier.

The waiter came immediately and put a glass of water in front of her.

“How much is a mixed ice cream cup?” the little girl asked.

“1 dollar and 75 cents” replied the waiter.

The little girl pulled her hand out of purse and studied the coins she had. “Well, how much is a plain ice cream?” she inquired.

By now, more people were waiting for a table and the waiter was growing very impatient. “1 dollar and 50 cents,” he impatiently replied.

The little girl again counted her coins. “I’ll have the plain ice cream,” she said.

The waiter brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The girl finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left. When the waiter came back, a tear or two came out of his eyes.

As he wiped down the table, there placed neatly beside the empty dish were 25 cents. You see, she couldn’t have the mixed ice cream because she had to have enough money to leave him a tip!!

Moral: The pleasure of being selfless and thoughtful is better than the taste of being selfish. Think a little less about yourself and a little more about others.

i hope the President of USA + Prime Ministers of UK + France etc should learn a lesson from this little girl.  These people are busy in killing innocent people in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Libiya and many other countries and planning for the same in Iran.   It is really shame of having such people between us.   I request the people of respective countries to wake up and stop killing of innocent people worldwide.    They should not forget that same thing may take place in their countries some time and there will be no place for them to take shelter.

It tells us that we should not underestimate any one may be whom we are thinking unimportant is some thing very important like love & feelings of that little girl which could not defined in words

I dont agree with the idea of giving tips as this money can be given to a poor instead. However, I think the saying of our beloved Prophet whom our Creator chose is apt for the situation. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “You will not enter Paradise until you truly believe and you will not truly believe until you love one another.”

I am getting reminded of a Sahabah who were hosted a guest when there were limited food for their children only, the sahabah made sleep their children and when the food served to the guest ,the wife of the sahabah turned off the light, the guest was having food and the sahabah and his wife acted as they are also accompanying the guest in the food.. This shows the care for others irrespective of our own desires.. These are high people in their characters…..
Moral i can suggest : “Know the value of others beyond own desire”

I guess the moral should be, “The pleasure of being selfless and thoughtful is better than the taste of being selfish. Think a little less about yourself and a little more about others.”

    The story was awesome.
