Once there was a rich man who bought two beautiful birds as pets for his garden. The birds were some of the most beautiful birds he had ever seen. He gave the precious birds to his gardener to be trained.
Many days passed away and one day the gardener informed the rich man that though one of the birds was flying beautifully, soaring high in the sky, the other bird had not moved from its branch since the day it had arrived.
The rich man called in healers and magicians from all over the country, to tend to the bird, but no one could make the bird fly. Then the rich man thought to himself, “Maybe I need someone more familiar with the countryside to understand the nature of this problem.” So he called out to his gardener, “Go and get a villager.”
In the morning, the rich man was thrilled to see the bird soaring high above the garden.
Then the rich man asked the villager, “How did you make the bird fly?”
With his head bowed, the villager said to the rich man, ” It was very easy, sir. I simply cut the branch where the bird was sitting.”
Moral: We are all made to fly– to realize our incredible potential as human beings. But instead of doing that, we sit on our branches, clinging to the things that are familiar to us. The possibilities are endless, but for most of us, they remain undiscovered. We conform to the familiar, the comfortable, the mundane. So for the most part, our lives are mediocre instead of exciting, thrilling and fulfilling.
So let us destroy the branch of fear we cling to and free ourselves to the glory of flight !!!
very touching and inspiring. please send more of such beautiful ones. Thanks
Excellent moral!
our eyes are always looking to others watching others … so at end we don’t ever realize what we are … what we have … to realize one s self completely is greatest achievement of human …
amazing! but i sometimes wonder…what are our branches?
Branches of fear.
Excellent & crystal clear message to all humankind, who sit & cry over spilled milk for even the smallest of hurdles they have to face. Infact, the Almighty is putting us in such situations, like cutting the branches we sit on, so that we grab the various opportunities the Almighty has kept in store for us. Many successful people, if thier stories are read, were all strugglers & some major/minor incidents in thier life changed everything for the better. God Blees All.

yes people should stop sticking to what they know like some people in Egypt say (what we know is better that what we don’t) that is wrong, if people did that there would’ve been no computers, internet, or even French fries (sorry guys I’m hungry now :))

I liked this story. Confort Zone is the route cause of all our problems. Otherwise sky is the limit for any moral, social, economical developments. Thanks. Nazeer Ataullah
Rightly said Ataullah.
very motivating story……thanks sara .
Very thoughtful and ideological,
It is easier thought of and executed in our hearts and heads
however, implementing it is always a challenge.
But there’s always a starting point, and now is that time!
Merci Beaucoup Sara!!!
